The Peer Mentors are a group of 30 students who are dedicated to helping First-Year Students become more informed about campus life, better prepared to meet the challenges that face new students in the classroom and out, and more connected to members of the Washington College and Chestertown community. They have gone through an extensive application and interview process, as well as a spring training program and will be your best resource as you make the transition from high school to Washington College.
You have been assigned a Peer Mentor and will hear from him or her over the summer. In addition to being in contact with you and about 12 of your classmates over the summer, your Peer Mentor will also lead you all through Fall orientation when you arrive on campus in August. As the College celebrates its 225th anniversary this year, the theme for this year's New Student Orientation is "The Revolution Continues" and the Peer Mentors are committed to helping you and the other new students experience your own "Revolution" here at Washington College.

Favorite class at WC and why: Psychopathology I, because it goes very in-depth into different psychological disorders. Plus, Jim is an awesome professor.
If you could go back in time, where/when would you go: I would go back to the summer of '69 and rock out at Woodstock.

What was your childhood ambition: I wanted to be a ballet-dancing pediatrician who taught preschoolers during the week and was a movie star wife of Tommy, the White Ranger from "Power Rangers" on the weekend.

Favorite class at WC and why: International Political Economy - As the juncture of my two majors was able to combine a lot of what I had learned theoretically and was able to apply it to current real world examples, and provided a great insight into the workings of the worlds power and financial flows. The professor had considerable first hand experience within both the Public and Private sectors giving him and us an even better insight into the "real world."

Most memorable experience as a First Year Student: Taking advantage of the Rita's that's 2 minutes away from my dorm—double-punch Tuesday! Having Gymnastics playtime, being 30 minutes late for my peer mentor meeting—awkward.
One thing I would not come to college without: Stickys to hang posters with, clips to keep chip bags closed, Frisbee, power strip.
One thing I would leave at home: Anything that you're not sure if you'll need or not. If you're debating, chances are you won't need it.
Favorite class at WC and why: Shakespeare—at first, I took it just for distribution, but I ended up taking the 2nd semester because it's so amazing; the professor is really engaging and time flies.
If you could go back in time, when/where would you go? If I could go back in time and meet anybody, it would be Marlon Brando in the 50's—I love him. Best actor of all time.
